Oh, Kay!! I'll take in abandoned & rejected ruffles--any time!! ;)Rhonda
Well the ruffles, mmm well they are ruffles aren't they :O).
I'll take a bob each way on ruffles. I made a ruffled blouse which I love. I've just finished a jacket that I can't stand.
I agree with removing the ruffles. Ruffles are not bad, but the fabric may not have enough drape for this application and the print does not seem to be ruffle friendly.
What interesting fabric--a great conversational gambit. I agree; I think it doesn't "need" the ruffles.
P.S. Thank you for stopping by my blog and for your suggestions on my blue dress, particularly about changing the darts. I think I'll also try adding a 1/2" in length to the torso to help with the hip placement. ~ Peggyhttp://peggyscloset.blogspot.com/
The ruffles on a plain top would have been fine, but I agree with you in removing them. The horizontal lines on the fabric don't need any competition from vertical lines on the diagonal ruffles, do they? It's often difficult to see the balance of detail until everything is sewn up.
