Some comments are giving me pause, especially my wise cousin who notes that it's more gimmicky - well, she actually said I'd probably get sick of it faster than other, presumably more classic, designs. Good comment! But I love Sunburst too.
The thing is, I left one possible design out of my line-up! I want you to tell me what you think of this one:
Adam's Rib by Carol Sunday
I would make it shorter.
Opinions, please!
1. Adam's Rib
ReplyDelete2. Diamonds and something...
3. Sunburst
I vote for the Sunburst pattern. It was definitely enhance your slim figure!

I think Adam's Rib is also lovely - for the same reason as the Sunburst. It's got horizontal cables. Since you are a slender person, a slim-fitting version of the Sunburst wouldn't widen your frame - as horizontal cables are wont to do. But, if you do the Sunburst, make sure it fits very well in the shoulders and arms. If it's not really slimly-fitted there, the overall impact will be undercut.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for Adam's Rib. I think the slim lines and neckline will be flattering on you and I love the overall stitch pattern. The Sunburst pattern is ok, but you will probably have to narrow the sleeves to make it flattering.
ReplyDeleteI like Adam's Rib. I think it's a much more versitle sweater.
ReplyDeleteI can totally see you wearing Adam's Rib.
ReplyDeleteAdam's Rib:) Although the Sunburst followed by Diamond are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteoh dear, this reminds me of a game my daughter used to play. She would pick up two Barbies and say "this one or this one?". then two more Barbies etc, until you got to the final two :)…so this one or this one?? I like them both - which do you prefer?
ReplyDeleteBuy more wool and whip both up ... easy solution!!! ... you do have a whole year ahead of you ... J
ReplyDeleteI find the sunburst gimmicky too. And the Adam's rib is probably on a waning fashion wave. I like the burdock best myself :-).
ReplyDeleteI still prefer sunburst. It just suits you so perfectly. :)
ReplyDeleteI like Adam's rib, but wonder if you would really wear it. I don't think Sunburst is gimmicky at all. In fact, the more tailored shape would probably get more wear in my wardrobe. YMMV.
ReplyDeleteSunburst looks like it would suit you. It also looks like a challenge you could tackle.

Gee, I'm flattered that I got a mention for my comment on the Sunburst pattern! I much prefer "Adam's Rib" to the Sunburst. Although it has style, it wouldn't date as quickly, in my opinion. If you end up knitting this one, it will be very flattering I think. I just read the later post, where you talk about swatching for it. I need to comment there, too!
