Interesting how you have the piece that runs from shoulder to shoulder --- does it act to stabilize the shoulders and the neck area?Jeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11994553975406806627noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5140515590936881334.post-14500667485808826582010-05-12T07:53:47.412-04:002010-05-12T07:53:47.412-04:00Interesting. And you do make such fabulous jackets.Vickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01529416439720810403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5140515590936881334.post-9218492740609564092010-05-09T10:16:06.818-04:002010-05-09T10:16:06.818-04:00Wow, what fantastic information! I too like to make my own shoulder pads. My question, I always put the firmer piece on the top so do you have a reason for putting it on the bottom, and how much does the wool compact since it seems fairly loosely woven? I saw a posting on this blog, from a professional tailor who makes a 3 piece sleeve head that curves depending on how much of a rope, as he called it, he wants for the sleeve cap.
I have never seen this done this way, and while I don't make that many jackets I've read up on it. Here's the blog: http://tuttofattoamano.blogspot.com/
You make gorgeous jackets, so I am not criticizing just asking if you have seen his method before? I know that how you press the top seam on the sleeve head determines the look of sleeve too, but I never do it differently! Which way do you press the seam?Nancy Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02235347323004026695noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5140515590936881334.post-5981333213604174862010-05-09T05:03:31.647-04:002010-05-09T05:03:31.647-04:00You are a freaking genius.
