I've done both the hand turned and the ss buttonholes, and why would anyone want to do the hand turned variety? It's so fussy and difficult to get it to look nice. Maybe if I did them hundreds of them, but I haven't. This will be a gorgeous jacket. Well, certainly there are parts of knitting that to must be done at home in peace (casting on 567 st for a shawl :-)), but it's eminently suited for sunny afternoons at the park, and long drives 1000s of miles away. Sewing must be done at home and sitting down, which should make it the default activity for these times. Unless you're watching a movie. Unless you have a hem to do by hand. You get my drift :-)..M-Cnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5140515590936881334.post-143580624475299342012-09-17T02:44:37.108-04:002012-09-17T02:44:37.108-04:00I'm a beginner knitter and socks seem very tri...I'm a beginner knitter and socks seem very tricky to me. I'll look for the book you mentioned!<br />I'm enjoying watching you sew this jacket and hearing how you decided to make design changes. I have this pattern, but am afraid to touch it, yet.Karinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06551387452771116176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5140515590936881334.post-33704933595105631462012-09-16T22:24:21.171-04:002012-09-16T22:24:21.171-04:00Its looking good Kay .
